Somewhere in the English countryside this week, a photographer who has spent three decades chasing royals was doing something his job never used to require. He was zooming in on a hedgerows and roads and comparing bridges on Google Maps. Less stakeout, more forensics.
Harry and Meghan’s representatives went to the press regulator IPSO last month, which asked UK editors for discretion about where the family is living since their return to the UK last month, while schools near their new home separately wrote to other parents about photographing the children. Fleet Street has held the line as if they don’t they risk legal action. Some sightings have surfaced. Meghan was spotted having an early coffee at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire earlier this month (first reported by Tom Sykes, The Royalist), but the location of their home stayed vague.
On Sunday, September 13, Meghan posted a family video on social media with comments switched off, showing Archie and Lilibet cycling and splashing through puddles on a countryside walk. The guessing continued behind the scenes: the Cotswolds, maybe, or Earl Spencer's Althorp, nobody quite saying it outright.
